The task

Amplify Mitre’s sponsorship of The English Football League amongst football fans.

What we did

Recognising all of the moments that Mitre footballs have created in The English Football League we created an integrated Made with Mitre campaign.

This was rolled out across Mitre’s marketing and social media with a supporting hashtag - #MadeWithMitre. This was used by fans across Twitter and Instagram when sharing favourite moments from Football League matches.  

We engaged sports editors by delivering a Hyperseam football in bespoke branded Mitre and Football League boxes. Media and influencers were encouraged to post a picture on social media using the hashtag.

Coverage included Sky Sports, FourFourTwo and The Sun, alongside influencer engagement from the likes of Match of the Day presenters.

Impact

We achieved over 340 articles and social media posts reaching almost 8,000,000 eyeballs. Coverage included Sky Sports, FourFourTwo and The Sun, alongside influencer engagement from the likes of Match of the Day presenters. #MadeWithMitre is now synonymous with the brand and the activity saw an increase in fan association between Mitre and The Football League.
